Philadelphia, PA - Completed a diagnostic scheduling for a club member’s rental property in Philadelphia, PA 19130. The tenant reported that the second-floor heating system was running but not producing any heat, despite multiple attempts to power cycle the unit. The system, located in a bathroom above the bathtub with a large access panel, is difficult to reach and requires a 6-foot ladder for proper inspection. Upon evaluation, our technician identified that the furnace igniter on the second floor is faulty and needs replacement to restore safe and efficient operation. The homeowner approved the repair, and we are coordinating a follow-up visit to replace the igniter, ensuring the rental unit’s heating system provides reliable warmth and comfort for the tenant. This proactive service helps maintain system safety and efficiency in Philadelphia homes during the heating season.

Conducted a heating system diagnostic in Philadelphia, PA 19125, after the customer reported a recurring PC03 error and the heat triggered a fire alarm in the living room of a rental home. After checking system operation, we found the refrigerant may be slightly low, though the issue can also be caused by factors such as a dirty filter or the system reaching operating limits during very cold temperatures below 32°F, which can lead to a temporary lockout. At this time, the system is operating, and we advise monitoring performance, with a plan to review repair or replacement options if the issue becomes more frequent.

Responded to an urgent no-heat call for a renter in Philadelphia, PA 19142, whose gas furnace stopped heating two days ago. The igniter wasn’t glowing, and the home had dropped to unsafe temperatures, so we started with a full diagnostic on the basement furnace. We replaced the faulty thermostat, restored proper control communication, and verified system operation. During testing, we found that the furnace was overheating and short-cycling due to ductwork that doesn’t match the system’s airflow requirements—a major factor behind the shutdown. After completing the thermostat replacement and confirming safe operation, we reviewed corrective ductwork options to prevent future overheating and keep his family warm for the rest of the heating season.

Home Rangers to the rescue! Great company very nice people, they came to my home on time an installed a 50 gallon gas hot water heater for the price that was quoted. The heater that was being replace was 15 years old still good and working. I remeber as a kid when the heater in my parents house broke what a mess water everwhere in the basement. So I decided to go with a new one being that the one we had was so old it was a ticking time bomb all though we didn't have an issue with it I felt was time. Thanks to Home Rangers I'm at ease knowing that I have 15 plus years with a new hot water heater.

The folks at Home Rangers are wonderful and stand by their work. I bought a house that they had just recently put in a new indoor and outdoor AC unit. When we moved in, there were some electrical problems with the unit and they came out to troubleshoot. Dan was great and very thorough to figure out the issue! We had a freeze up as well and he fixed it ASAP. All under the warranty! Finally he found the issue and Dan came and replaced the dampers and switchboard. Plus, Mel who answers the phone is incredibly kind and respectful. Even when I was less than courteous (broken AC in a new house after all - I maybe lost my cool a bit) she kept calm and attentive the entire time. She followed up frequently to ensure things were going well. Definitely will be using these guys in the future for our AC upkeep and any future repairs.
Brett Kurpiel - Philadelphia, PA 19146
Response from Home Rangers LLC:

Every time I have called Stan, invariably it was something very time sensitive, and he called me back quickly, visited my home quickly, was very communicative, and performed the repair really quickly. A+++

I found Stan through a Nest thermostat tech support specialist who was looking for a technician to fix my setup so I could have heat again. Stan arrived when he said he would, texting and calling ahead. He seemed very knowledgeable about HVAC systems in general, but specifically knew about smart programmable thermostats like Nest, which is not a skill that all HVAC pros have, not by a long shot. He diagnosed the problem within minutes. He spoke w/Nest agent on the phone to explain things and answer questions, and he filled out a detailed invoice as required by the company for reimbursing costs. Great service.

We had a terrific experience with Stan. He was very knowledgable and professional. In fact, he was the only contractor who figured out our HVAC issue and was able to fix it. Two other contractors we invited previously were no help and clearly gave us bad advice. We were very impressed by his work ethic and his pricing is very reasonable as well. He always responded promptly to our calls and was able to schedule us fast. Couldnt be happier with his service.

Great to work with. Stan was very helpful in not only servicing my rooftop hvac unit but also helping to identify a leak, took before/after images to help me understand the leak, and helped me identify a roofer who he explained the whole issue to. Made it all very painless.

Stan did an excellent job on my installation of central air/heat. I have an old house and he respected that and he accommodated where I wanted the vents. It was done in a timely manner and works great. Stan even came back by to check on the unit.

My unit located in the attic stopped working. I was concerned about the repair since getting to it would be difficult. Stan arrived on time and did not hesitate to go up into the area. Here for two hours and replaced three parts. The cost was extremely reasonable.

We required service to our central air conditioning unit. Unknown what the problem was, I was contacted by this company after I had made a previous appointment. With trust I cancelled my other appointment and hired this service. The problem was quickly diagnosed and we were given an estimate which I was happy with considering the work required to fix the unit. Excellent and reliable customer service; reliable and prompt service and warranty. We will definitely call on them again if needed.
